What kind of eye tests should children regularly get?

Depends on age: Infants and young children should have their red reflexes checked at routine well visits. Older infants and very young children should be screened for strabismus. Those who are developed enough to read an eye chart should be screened annually for visual acuity.

Annual exam: making sure there is no signs of amblyopia (blindness in one eye) and making sure their vision is normal in both eyes. (simple exam with pediatric ophthalmologist) and a dilated fundoscopic exam.
