Actos (pioglitazone): can worsen or precipitate heart failure if there is underlying CHF

Pioglitazone may cause or worsen heart failure in people with some heart conditions. It may also increase the chances of developing too low blood sugar, especially if a person is also using insulin. In elderly patients, it may increase the chances of bone fractures, particularly in women who’ve gone through menopause. There are a couple of other risks, but those are some of the main ones.
