Dopamine is needed for focused attention and is a substance that released makes you feel good. Nor epinephrine's effect is to make you more alert. It can cause you to have a bit of a racing heart beat and increase in blood pressure. When Ritalin (methylphenidate) is prescribed these are measured to watch for unwanted effects
