Dissociated: The effect of ketamine depends on the dose. It is used for general anesthesia and at these doses you would not feel anything and would be unconscious. Ketamine is also used to treat pain and at these lower doses, ketamine creates a state in which the person is dissociated from the body and external reality, it is often given with sedatives with amnesia properties to prevent possible hallucinations
