Safe, see eye doctor: In the hands of an experienced refractive eye surgeon, the procedure is very safe. However at your age of 50, presbyopia is an issue. Depending on to your refractive error, history of dry eye syndrome & or other factors will determine whether you are a good candidate for this or not. Unlike someone who is much younger, other considerations must be weighed in regarding near/far vision preferences.
