Goal is to Soothe: The most important things that can help is for doctors themselves 2 remain calm- 2 speak in calm voice/maintain eye contact/keep body language relaxed; 2 talk as little as possible; 2 allow person some time & space 2 calm themselves down; 2 communicate 2 person a desire 2 understand what is going on for them. It is wise not 2challenge person's thoughts or actions when they're agitated/overexcited.
