A member asked:

What dental anesthetics do most dentists typically use?

8 doctors weighed in across 4 answers

Lidocaine/articaine: Most common is lidocaine with epinephrine in the U.S., but articaine with epinephrine usage is growing rapidly due to more profound and more rapid anesthesia. Mepivocaine is also frequently used. All of these are injectable and not topical anesthetics.
