Sarcoma: Most tumors ib tge rub cage are derived from supportive tissue and not glandular elements thus giving rise to sarcomas. One can find liposarcomas of fatty tissue origin or malignant fibrous histiocytomas. Less frequently nerve sheath tumors from intercostal nerves form or cartilagenous tumors from the ribs. Metastatic carcinomas do not form there but metastasize.
