Adults and Children: Most Gastroenterologists are Internal Medicine Trained doctors who after finishing 3 years of Internal Medicine residency go on to do Fellowship training in Gastroenterological Diseaes of adults Pedoatric Gastroenterologists are Pediatric trained who after doing Pediatric Residency go on to to do Fellowship training in GI Disorders of children up to age 21 and they only treat in this age group
