Start locally & spre: Partial seizures refer to seizures that start in a localized fashion, for instance in one limb, and do not cause loss of consciousness. Secondary generalization refers to the spread from an initial local to involve other areas. If generalization occurs it usually causes loss of consciousness and will look like a grand mal convulsion.
