A member asked:

In pregnancy, what is an m antigen?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

"m" antigens: The human body produces particles called antibodies, and these are called either "G" or "M" depending on whether they are in response to old infectious agents called "antigens" or new ones respectively. These antibodies are detectible in the bloodstream and protect against certain illnesses caused by antigens (bacteria, virus or fungal) . In pregnancy it is important to ensure immunity.
