SeekTheeAGynecologis: Your gynecologist can work that out for you, after taking a thorough history and doing a preliminary physical exam and deciding what, if any, tests need to be done first. You might be referred to someone who does a lot of those tests and is more familiar with them. None of the tests are very uncomfortable.... unless the doctor's last name is Frankenstein.

Hysterosalpingogram: A special Xray test called a hysterosalpingogram is used to check whether fallopian tubes are blocked. Xray pictures are taken after dye (contrast material) is injected into the uterus through a thin tube that is put through the vagina into the cervix. This type of testing is usually only done after a couple has been consistently trying to get pregnant for more than 2 years.
