Take Two And Call Me: Not so easy, buddy! These substances do not prevent the build up of plaque. They inhibit the process that starts when a plaque gets a bit too large. Aspirin is by far the best because it is cheap cheap and does the best job without too many side effects in most people, especially when compared to the other medications prescribed. Depends: Nothing much can make up for the typical horrible American diet and lack of exercise, and smoking. Pills without lifestyle changes can help some but there is clinical evidence that a 10% fat diet does REDUCE plaque over time. See the Dean Ornish, M.D. diet plan. And do what your doc recommends medicine-wise.
