Yes : But your decisions regarding food and exercise are more important than heredity. For example, native americans have a propensity to diabetes in our culture. This is because their metabolism was inherited from ancestors who did not eat simple carbohydrates in the quantities that we do in our society. Also several studies show that aerobic exercise 30 minutes daily will reverse type 2 diabetes.
