Anxiety help: Without any weakness over that time frame, the Neuro is right - ALS is not likely. But you do feel worried and a good Health Psychologist might help you as you investigate. They can evaluate the emotional part and refer you to physicians w/ their impressions of the physical part. That's a bit like having an attorney. If the Dr didn't mention MS. I don't want to worry you, but that's worth a nod.
