Need to see a MD: There is a large list of possible diagnoses so it would be best to see your primary MD or Podiatrist as soon as possible. In the meantime some basic things you can do are to rest your feet, soak them in Epsom salts, try an anti-inflammatory and massage them.Sprains, arthritis, tendinitis should improve w/some of those approaches. However an MD should assess if there is a fracture, ligament tear etc

Exam: you will need an examination and xray to rule out a fracture. I suggest rest, ice, compression, elevation. and if not allergic, Aleve (naproxen) or Advil.

Get an eval: You may have a severe sprain/strain, a torn ligament, or even a type of fracture. Best wishes.

Get evaluated: Ankle pain can have multiple causes including but not limited to trauma, arthritis, tendinitis, infection, and neoplasm. A thorough history and physical followed by diagnostic imaging can help get the answers and treatment you might need.
