Memory: Anxiety interferes with the retrieval of memories. One of the hypotheses about what causes deja vu is that we cannot recall a memory that initially familiarized us with something we are now seeing, i.e. having seen a photo of an art object and not remembering seeing the photo but getting a sense of deja vu when you see it in a museum. If you have very frequent sensations of deja vu you may be having seizures of the temporal lobe, not uncommon after head trauma for example. See your doctor if this is a persistent problem.
