A fib: There is more space on the right side of the chest compared to the left side of the chest in the chest cavity. It has been observed that patients with heart failure tend to do better when they sleep on their right side compared to the left side. For atrial fibrillation this phenomenon has not been described,but it is possible that the left atrium is more likely to be compressed in that position
