1st need diagnosis: You may not have actually suffered "nerve damage" by virtue of your injury. You should get a good neurological examination performed of the lower extremity and then, the treatment for the "nerve damage" will be more clear. Of course, for a quad strain no one can argue the points of rest and gradual training to get back into things. That makes perfect sense.
