A member asked:

What are the benefits of circumcising? i keep hearing controversy about it, and i was curious.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Benefits outweigh: risks per American Academy of Pediatrics. Studies show circumcision leads to better hygiene and less risk for UTI's/STD's, and smaller risk for developing penile cancer. This procedure however is mostly done for religious/cultural reasons and the AAP leaves the decision up to the parents because of this. If it helps, I have never had an uncircumcised patient with any of the above problems. Best!
