Get checked...: The only way to tell you what it is is by taking a look at it. There are multiple types of lumps that can appear in that area(most of them are benign-not cancer). My suggestion is to go and see your doctor or you may go to an urgent care in order to get seen and get a diagnosis and treatment as needed. I don't think you are dying though if not having any other problems than that. Best wishes.

Not life threatening: You may have an early boil. Best will be to cover it with a bandaid during the day to limit friction. Regular hygiene and observation usually suffice. In case it becomes bigger, painful let your doc know for an office visit. Definitely not life threatening at this time, common clinical scenario.
