7 to 8 hrs: is what I recommend to my patients, however no two people are the same, and sometimes our "sleep needs" can change as we age. 7-8 hrs is generally believed to be the average time needed for a good night's rest. During your period you may need a little more sleep than usual also, and that is normal. Pleasant dreams!
