what are the tests for bulimia nervosa?

1 doctor answer
Dr. Glen Elliott
42 years experience Child Psychiatry
Clinical Diagnosis: There are no specific tests for bulimia. Ultimately, it requires the person stating or being observed to regularly overeat and then purge, typically with induced vomiting or laxitives. There are some "signs" especially associated with recurrent vomiting, including loss of enamel from stomach acid. However, weight often is normal, so it's behavior that is the key.
