Stopping Period: I'm not sure why you would need to stop your period immediately. High dose estrogen can be used to stop bleeding, but it most cases, the treatment would be worse than the disease.

If you see: Your gyn , your gyn could prescibe Lysteda if there is nothing wrong going on, it will markedly slow it down 70-90% if it works properly and you have no contraindications to it.

Possibly: If you start a pack today, you should not get a period till after day 21 or 24 of the pack depending on which pill you are on. Be sure to take it same time every day and adjust for any time changes. Be warned though that any time you start taking the pill there is a chance of breakthrough bleeding that can occur for upto 3 months as your body adjusts to the hormone.
