Xrays and CT scan: Spondylolysis can lead to spondylolisthesis. This is found on ct's of the spine and xrays as well.

Imaging: Initially, plain x-rays can be used. Sometimes a ct scan may be needed if not clearly visible on an x-ray and a MRI can also visualize these and even help guide as to whether there is healing potential if there is signal changes consistent with bone edema. A bone scan can also gelp to diagnose these but may aslo miss those that may be chronic.
