You could use an: early pregnancy test several days prior to period to test. A regular home pregnancy test could be used just prior to anticipated period - but would not be as accurate if HCG isn't very high yet.

Yes: A blood test may be positive before missing your period. You can do the urine test before missing your period and believe it if it is positive but a negative won't be reliable that soon. Hope this helps.
