If in doubt, collect the first part (10cc) of the first morning urine and send in freshly for microscopic UA or do wet mount microscopic exam for urethral swab specimen. Yes: When tested via a urine sample – it should be a 1st void sample – the first 20 to 30 mm of urine of initial stream should be used. The person should not have urinated for at least an hour prior. Most STD screens don’t include Trichomoniasis.
