Yes: There are studies supporting the use of CoQ10 in heart failure helping with the energetics of the heart. Levels of Coq10 can be monitored on blood work and would aim for levels around 2.5. Typical dosing of CoQ10 are to begin with 100mg taken with fat containing food. Ubiquinol is thought to be better absorbed but is more expensive. Especially important if you are also on a statin.

Yes: In fact, co Q A at 100mg 2x/day can be used as an adjunct to relief some mild statin related muscle cramps e.g. lipitor (atorvastatin). otherwise I find this without too much harm than the heart itself.
