Testing: It can take the body some time to reset after stopping hormone therapy. Seeing a doctor for a pregnancy test and possible other labs can help determine if there is another cause for lack of a menstrual cycle.

Try Again: You may have to try again since you had that progesterone for years and your uterus may need more time to be back to its usual cycle to prepare for the ovum implantation which should be at the height of the proliferative phase around the midcycle which is controlled by estrogen.

Anovulation: When a woman does not ovulate, her ovary will not produce sufficient amounts of progesterone. The inner lining of the uterus that was build up under the influence of estrogens during the first half of the cycle will not transform and get ready to be shed 2 weeks after ovulation, in fact, the woman may not have a menstrual period for an indeterminate period of time (weeks to months).
