What kind of services are recommended for small children with 6q deletion and developmental delay?

Dr. Johanna Fricke answered

Specializes in Pediatrics - Developmental and Behavioral

From birth- 3 years,: a child with 6q deletion qualifies for your state's Early Intervention Program, usually through the health division. From 3-5 years, he qualifies for Early Childhood Special Education Services. Contact Child Find of your local school district. Apply to SSA for Social Security funds & for the Katie Becket Program at the same time. If your income is too high for SSI, you may get Katie Beckett funds
