Look at ingredients: Most important is that it is NOT SAFE to take cold remedies that contain alcohol, pseudo ephedrine (ephedrine sulfate) and phenylephrine - these can affect blood flow to the placenta. Generally OK ingredients short term are Guaifenesin, Dextromethorphan, Vicks VaporRub and cough drops. Best still to check with your doctor as each person is individual. Would avoid herbal and natural remedies as they are not regulated.

Not certain: I find 2 products called pectol. One is concentrated honey suckle the other is a minty candy. Both sound safe but since I'm unable to find a list of ingredients I can't be completely certain. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Pectol: If you are asking about Pectol throat lozenges, then yes, you can take them being 4 months pregnant. There seem to be many varieties of the Pectol lozenges. Just be sure to avoid the ones with licorice in them during pregnancy.
