A member asked:

Mood swings days before period, very painful periods, headaches, cravings for sweets, etc... is there anything i can do to help these symptoms?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Perimenstrual: Symptoms such as you are having are very common. There are a couple of things that can be done to help these. You could take birth control pills which can decrease some of the symptoms especially the painful periods. Another option is to take an antidepressant for just 10 days of the month which helps with the other symptoms, fluoxetine. Talk with your GYN or FP about options.
