Period?: Not sure when your period is due - it could be coming early or late. It is also possible that you are having an irregular cycle or having spotting at ovulation. Finally, there could be a vaginal infection causing the symptoms. See how things go - if you develop discharge, fever or worsening pain, see a doctor.
