A member asked:

Do they test for herpes simplex 2 during pregnancy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Usually, yes: Herpes, gonorrhea, hiv, and human papilloma virus, are usually tested for in initial screening, among other things (like diabetes) during the first trimester visits. Usually, though, it is just a herpes virus screen, which includes herpes type i and ii, rather than separating them out.
