TongueInCheekCure: If you check online you will find a bunch of "interesting" suggestions(from alum to silver nitrate)but I've found a prescription high-potency steroid cream to work the best. You'll have to apply it frequently on a dry tongue.Rub in with a Q-Tip and hold the tongue out until lots have been absorbed,every 3-4 hours.Usually works in 2-3 days. There are other ways,but get your doctor to try this first

Prevention: The reaction of people to acidic foods is very variable. Some people are just more susceptible to reactions to acidic foods and drinks, like orange juice, pineapple juice, fruits, tomatoes, and others. Stress and anxiety also create problems sometimes. As far as i know, prevention is difficult except for keeping track of what you eat/drink and when you get the sores. Second opinion?!
