A member asked:

What tool is used to perform a cervical biopsy, conization, and endocervical curettage?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Cx/bx,cone,endocuret: A cervical biopsy is done with punch forceps, conization with hot cautery or a # 11 scalpel, an endocervial curettage with a small curette scraping device. All are associated with cervical cell abnormalities or endocervical disease which may be pre-malignant. Results of these will suggest if further treatment is necessary.
