It depends: A finger may hurt because of arthritis, a small ganglion cyst, or trigger finger (tendinitis). It depends where it hurts, but a steroid injection can be very effective if rest or using warmth/cold or anti- inflammatory drugs don't work. If it keeps hurting you you may want to see a doctor and get an x-ray.
