Need for information: Severe testicular pain of sudden onset can be from torsion & is an emergency. Can be torsion of appendix testis. Can be due to epididymo-orchitis (Inflammation of epididymis & testis. In both cases scrotum will be hot, swollen, red & tender. Other causes can be varicocele, hydrocele, hematoma, lover's nuts, inguinal hernia or bleed into testis tumor. Scrotal ultrasound very helpful.
