How does streptococcus pneumoniae attack and spread?

Immunity compromise: community acquired pneumonia is a bacterial infection to the lung either by acquired transmission or poor immunity. Smokers, immunocompromised, asthmatics, and chronic lung diseased patients have a higher risk than the usual population.

Streptococcus: Streptococcus is a type of bacteria that can infect different parts of your body. A streptococcal infection in the lungs is called pneumonia and is best treated with antibiotics. Bacteria can spread from your lungs to other areas of the body if not treated properly.

Strep pneumoniae: This bacterium generally causes sudden shaking chills followed by a fever. The lungs are the common target,but it can also cause meningitis and sometimes causes acute septicemia(blood poisoning) spreading throughout the body which is a dire situation.
