Ziconotide is....: Ziconotide is an approved intrathecal drug for treating neuropathic and chronic pain. It inhibits N-type voltage-gated calcium channels as its presumed mechanism of action. Some of Ziconotide adverse effects include include neurologic and cognitive impairment, dizziness, confusion, memory deficits.

Common: edema, constipation, diarrhea, dizziness, somnolence, ataxia, headache blurred vision, retaining urine. More serious hallucinations, delirium, paranoia, psychosis, cognitive or memory impairment, muscle breakdown, and renal failure. FDA warns psychiatric/neurological severe impairment may occur (black box warning), and the drug is contraindicated if prior history of psychosis
