A member asked:

What are the chances of getting cancer? how many people get it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It's common: Minor skin cancers are usually easily managed and light-skinned people who get a lot of unprotected sunlight can almost expect these. Older folks are at greater risk than younger. Lifetime risk of a serious cancer is 40%, risk of dying is 20%, but this is higher or lower depending on your using tobacco and your family history.
