Know your asthma: One needs to know their asthma, what triggers your attacks and always carry your rescue medications. You can never prevent an attack 100%, so you need to be prepared.

Asthma Action Plan!: Understand in detail your asthma action plan as outlined by your physician. Keep all rescue meds with you. Be sure you have good inhaler technique. Consider preventive medication if you are using more than 2 refills of albuterol a year. Inhaled steroids combined with "leucotriene inhibitors" are very effective in preventing attacks!
