A member asked:

Twin has a cleft lip and a small chin (which is known as micrognathia). how do you treat this?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Lip repair first: if this is an infant. Usually about 3 months of age. The small chin should not be addressed until growth is complete. If this is a newborn, it is best to have the child evaluated and followed by a multidisciplinary cleft lip and palate team. The ACPA had a list of teams.
