Easily prevented: Herpes prevention is easy, but details depend on virus type (HSV1 vs HSV2) and site of infection (oral or genital). For genital HSV2, he can take valacyclovir or acyclovir, and use condoms for all intercourse. Genital HSV1 is infrequently transmitted, little worry. During either a genital or oral outbreak, he should not expose you to the site of his infection by kissing, intercourse, or oral sex.
