Get advice from: a physician that knows these medications well such as a pain physician or anesthesiologist. In general it is ok to take oxycodone after being on Suboxone but depending when you stopped the suboxone, you may be somewhat resistant to oxycodone. Depending on what is being treated and why you were on suboxone, there may be better options. Consult a pain physician or anesthesiologist.

Time frame: Several points: first suboxone has two drugs in it and one is a blocker. If the blocker is there, then at best you won't get any feffect of the oxycodone; at worst there MIGHT be withdrawal. Second, the other drug is strong--over 10 times stronger so if you are on 8 buprenorphine a 10 mg oxycodone won't feel like much. third, tolerance is unpredictable and might be SMALL on suboxone. ok if > 5d
