I've read that the risk of hiv is higher in gay men. is that true? if so, why?

Wrong to generalize: Passive, unprotected anal intercourse with a HIV-positive partner is an especially dangerous practice, and nowadays in the US around 50% of new HIV infections are in men who do this. The orientation itself doesn't create the risk, and partnered or safety-focused gay men are not at any special risk. And worldwide, most HIV is transmitted through heterosexual sex. Huge topic. Be fair & informed.
