Being Gay: Yes. Of course. HIV is a virus. It can be avoided and does not have to be part of your life. Most gay men do not have HIV. But, if you are worried and want complete protection, there is a new HIV prevention approach called Pre-exposure prophylaxis. PreP. PreP is now endorsed by the FDA and CDC. Taking PreP is 100% effective at preventing HIV infection.
