Patch or pill?: Over the long term, the patch could actually be a better option. Many people do find they tend to come off the body too easily, however - like before they're supposed to. Other options include allowing the estrogen pill to dissolve under the tongue, and injectable estrogen. It is felt that swallowing an oral pill may have more impact on the liver over time. LGromko MD
