Could mono be the cause of a missed period?

Mono: severe illness could cause a missed period but also have no effect on it. When in doubt, do a home pregnancy test.

Mononucleosis: If you have proven "mononucleosis" (Epstein-Barr disease) it can cause delays in ovulation which will postpone the onset of your period. If you have breast tenderness, nausea, get a serum HCG test to see if you might also be pregnant.
