A member asked:

Do i need a tympanometry after ear tube surgery?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Confusing question: If you have functioning tubes in place, tympanometry would not be particularly helpful. If there was a plug in one or both tubes, it would produce a visible wave form, but would usually just produce a flat pattern.I suppose if you wanted to verify tube function it could be used that way, but I prefer to look at the tubes. It is usually obvious.
